The Scottish Games Industry Recruitment Fair

Passionate about gaming? Want to work in the games industry? Fancy yourself as a programmer, an animator, an artist, a tester or even a game designer?

Then this event is for you.




Scotland is home to some of the world's most successful games development studios creating top selling titles, notably smash hits State of Emergency, Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup, the Grand Theft Auto franchises, Lemmings, Denki Blocks for the Sky TV Platform and Championship Manager for mobile and the multi-award winning Crackdown for Xbox360.

This exciting recruitment fair offers you the chance to meet with Scotland's top games development studios and learn of the variety of different jobs available within these businesses NOW.

You will hear presentations from various games companies across Scotland - including console, mobile and interactive TV development studios - and from employees within these companies. Learn of the variety of excellent jobs available within this exciting industry from games design through to quality assurance. Also learn of 'Dare to be Digital' - a unique industry-backed video games development competition for teams of students studying at all universities and art colleges.



The afternoon will consist of a series of informal, yet informative, presentations and allow plenty of opportunity for you to chat with Scotland's games companies. Don't forget to bring lots of copies of your CV - and even better - any demos you have, most of these games companies have positions to fill NOW and post graduation 2008!

In addition to presentations and panel sessions, the afternoon will be followed by an informal networking reception where you can enjoy a drink and continue chatting with the games companies' representatives.


How to Register

This is a free event, open to all those who have a genuine interest in working in the Scottish games industry - whether you want to be an animator or composer, programmer or tester. This event will be of interest to students and to those already working in the games industry. REGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL! register here.


Live out with Tayside?
If you are a student living outside the Tayside region we can organise a coach to get you to and from the fair. At least 15 students from your academic institution must be attending the fair and a contribution would also be required from your university or college towards coach hire cost. Please register as normal and once we receive more than 15 registrations from your place of study, we'll get in touch with your institution, get the coach organised and email you with the details.

Dare to be Digital is a unique industry-backed video games development competition for students at universities and art colleges. It offers the opportunity for teams of artistic and technology students to develop their games ideas to prototype stages with full support.
