Infinity Ward New Forum, 402 and Call of Duty 4 News by Vrandas

Till last week this website used information from posts made by modders and mappers in the special sections on the IW forum. So all the latest news about new released custom maps and mods, plus the various updates, had this great place to be distributed from.
But not anymore... Since monday this IW forum is gone!
There was also an other official CoD4 forum. As a part of the promoted CharlieOscarDelta.com - Activision's official CoD4 website. Like I said... was. Because since monday the CharlieOscarDelta.com stopped to excist. In less then a year since the release of Call of Duty 4 they decided to stop with the CharlieOscarDelta.com website.
Stop? Yea.. just close it. And redirect all back to Activision's official main site for Call of Duty : callofduty.com. This Call of Duty site is now restyled with a CoD:World of War theme; complete with this NEW (!) CoD: World of War forum.
HUH?? What about useful information or personal help for all those thousands of CoD4 players and server-admins out there?
Well they came up with this brilliant idea....
Why not make a whole new forum for Call of Duty 4 and let Infinity Ward, as it is the CoD4 developer, to be the forum host. And so they did. Since this monday the new forum replaces the old IW forum.
They didnt say NEW forum; they told the users of the old fora : a forum MIGRATION.
What did they migrate to this new forum? The member-lists with a total of 143200 members. And that is ALL they managed to migrate so far. ( Does this mean registered users can use old name and password to log in? No. Users registered again or asked for new password because the old one doesn't work.)
Already users were against their first plan to have only 1 section for PC, PS3 and XboX users on this new forum. So now at least 3 sections are present in the so called "Gaming Discussion" section. But that is it.
All priceless information about server settings, how to mod or map, Wiskey's maplist for custom maps, tutorials on all and everything, links to important websites, all questions and answers regarding errors or help... YEARS of work from the Call of Duty Community for the Call of Duty Community is simply gone.
Will we ever get those important mod and map sections back or will from now on all new information be scattered all over the internet ? We dont know.
The new IW forum is overcrowed and, with no sections, completly useless. It is a chaotic mess of double posts and useless spam.
And users dont know each other because they come from 2 different forum-sites. The IW forum was known to be a help and info center; the CharlieOscarDelta.com forum was, from day one, more of a meetingplace/chatterbox type of forum.
You can imagine the horror you get to see when you are looking for some usefull information.
So monday was, again, a sad day in the CoD4 History. And with still not a single word of information about the Mapping Contest we really doubt if the once so important IW forum will be restored to how and what it used to be.
News is that the CoD: WaW developer, Treyarch, cant wait to inform, help and stimulate the CoD Community to Mod and Map for the, by them claimed to be, best CoD version ever: Call of Duty: World at War.
