Game Development

GameHorizon Conference is set to be this year's leading European event for international game executives.

A two-day conference featuring the most creative, entertaining and inspirational speakers from the games and entertainment industry. The experts. The influencers. Those who will drive the industry forward.

You are invited to be part of a unique community, and over the course of two days to meet, network and share ideas with leaders of the games industry. Expect to have your views of the industry challenged and leave the conference with new ideas for building future strategies.

Held on 18-19 June 2008 in NewcastleGateshead, UK, the GameHorizon Conference is your chance to:

Hear from some of the most interesting, influential games industry experts
Time out to find out about future prospects and re-think future strategies
Meet up with your peers and build new relationships with like-minded executives.
Fantastic networking and entertainment: one conference party, one survivors drinks party, two lunches, ‘pampering stations' available throughout the conference and plenty of coffee breaks!
If you're sick of eye-wateringly poor PowerPoint presentations and monotone speeches, we've got the perfect remedy. At the GameHorizon Conference, we’re using a variety of formats to keep all talks fresh, engaging and - with a mix of social and networking opportunities throughout the day and night.

The conference is run by GameHorizon, the leading business network for game developers, publishers and tech companies throughout the UK. (Find out more about GameHorizon.)

GameHorizon

GameHorizon is the leading business network for UK-based games companies - developers, publishers, middleware firms and other service providers.

Our goal is to facilitate more collaboration, improve knowledge and increase local and international trade for UK-based games companies - with the ultimate aim of strengthening the position of the UK's games industry on the global stage.

To achieve this, we bring together professionals from across the industry - be they developers, publishers, scriptwriters, technicians or anything else - through a programme of events, showcasing activities, member meetings and international trade delegations.

Based in North East England, we also work with regional development agency One NorthEast to provide additional services to companies working within our native region, including local meetings, events and student/graduate placements.

Advisory board
GameHorizon is backed by an advisory board featuring representatives from some of the leading organisations in the games industry, including:

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) - George Bain
Microsoft - Nick Rooke
NVIDIA - Phil Scott
DevelopTrak - Simon Prytherch
Eutechnyx - Darren Jobling
Atomic Planet - Darren Falcus
