Cod4 patch 1.7 - Error during installation.


When you want to install the new 1.7 CoD4 patch you get this error :

"installation could not be at the patch specified"


The "could not be at the patch specified " is a known problem.

It's because of the installer and you having CoD4 not installed on the standard location.

But to update to 1.7 can be done without the patchX.exe file.

You only need the set of files that are new or updated and put them on your PC.

You can re-install CoD4 and use the standard location OR download Zip-file with updated 1.7 files.

Find your Activision folder on your PC.

Standard path is C:|Program Files|Activision

Copy the 'Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare' folder from here into this Activision folder.

It will ask to replace the old 1.6 version files. And that is what we want.
