Multiplayer Guide
MULTIPLAYER PERKS
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will contain some multiplayer features called "perks." There are many different perks and each will give you some kind of different and/or improved ability. Check them out below:
Last Stand
With Last Stand, you'll get one last ditch effort to continue the fight before you bleed out, or take another lethal hit. When you customize your class with Last Stand, or choose a default class which has it, anytime you're taken down, you'll fall to the ground and instantly pull out your side arm. While in Last Stand, you'll be firing your side arm from the ground with one hand. Putting up one final last stand against the enemy before you bleed out, or they put one final round into you.
Deep Impact
In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, a new Bullet Penetration system has been added to both single-player and multiplayer that allows you to shoot through certain objects in the game that would normally be used as cover (i.e. Walls, floors, ceilings). It changes the entire way you play the game; suddenly it's not just about getting to cover, but about getting to hard cover. In multiplayer, this can change your tactics dramatically. Rather than simply picking a weapon to take into a firefight, you can carefully craft your weapon's load out to the environment you'll be fighting in.
Double Tap
Double Tap is pretty straight forward: put more rounds down range quicker, because with Double Tap enabled, you'll have an increased rate of fire on any weapon you have, including your pistol. The Double Tap perk is ideal for the Flag Runners, Run and Gunners - i.e. the guys who want to get into battle quickly, and wreak some havoc. It's also perfect for CQB and interior fighting. Keep in mind though, every perk has its pros and cons. If you choose Double Tap, you're going to have to miss out on something else, not to mention how quickly you're going to blow through your ammo if you're a spray-and-pray type of player.
Sleight of Hand
Sleight of Hand allows for faster reloads. This means you can put the enemies down, reload quicker, and get back into the fight faster. This perk is ideal for the heavy machine gunners, such as the M60 shown in the video or an M249 SAW gunner due to the normally long reload times of changing out ammo drums. Although when it comes to an intense fire fight, a faster reload time comes in handy with just about any weapon you use because every second counts.
C4 Explosives
C4 doesn't need a ton of explanation - it's a perfect perk for objective game types such as Search and Destroy where you can set traps for your enemy, and for faster paced games like Free For All (Deathmatch) where you can lead your target towards you and blow them up with well placed C4.
Dead Silence
With the Dead Silence perk, you'll make less noise when you move, which means you'll be able to easily sneak up on unsuspecting enemies for a swift knife melee. Dead Silence is great for stealthy style players who want to flank around or sneak in behind their enemies undetected. For the true, ghost player, Dead Silence combined with a customized weapon load out with a suppressor and UAV Jammer, allows for some serious stealth action. This perk is useful in just about every situation and game type, because getting the jump on the enemy always works out in your favor.
UAV Jammer
This perk allows you to stay off of the enemy's radar, making it a great perk for snipers and anyone that wants to play stealth-style.
Extreme Conditioning
This perk gives an extended time added to the sprint feature. If you want to get in and out, fast, then this is the perk for you!
